Spring Book Club Follow Up

Thanks again for all of the wonderful contributions you all made to the spring book club. PGP emails were sent out last week to everyone who participated in at least 6 of the 12 weeks of the book club. If you did not receive a PGP email and feel that you should have, please contact Meri Carnahan at carnahan@doe.in.gov.

Congratulations to Lindsay Berndt from Lake Ridge Schools who is the recipient of the $1000 professional development mini grant. Another grant will be awarded to a participant of the summer book club.

It's now time to announce the selection for our summer 2015 book club. We will be reading What Connected Educators Do Differently by Todd Whitaker, Jeffrey Zoul, and Jimmy Casas. The digital and paperback versions of this book can be purchased from Amazon. Our summer book club will kick off on Monday, June 1st.

  2. I am looking forward to participating in my first E-learning Book Club! I have enjoyed several other books by Todd Whitaker and I'm anxiously awaiting the arrival of this one from Amazon.

Is there anywhere I can find more information about the mini grants? What they are? What they can be used for? Etc.

  3. I just got a copy of the book and look forward to the discussion (and having time to read and discuss!) I have noticed some online tweets about it from other book clubs.

  8. I have received a digital copy of the book and have been reading the introduction. It appears very interesting and I look forward to participating in the book club for the first time. The experience should be enlightening. I will appreciate learning how to be connected with parents, fellow teachers and students especially since students are extremely interested in digital communication.

  18. Sorry I've missed all the comments you've made to this post. I think some of you have found your way to our newer blog posts, but take a look at http://elearningbookclub.blogspot.com and start with the post titled "What Connected Educators Do Differently Week 1 -- Introductions." This post should answer all of your questions. Please introduce yourself there and then move on to the other posts, read the comments, and join in the conversations.
